CORINTHIA HOTELS EXPANDS INTERNATIONALLY WITH FOUR OPENINGS, INCLUDING IN NEW YORK

The Corinthia Rome will operate in a 7,500 m2 building from the 19th century building previously owned by the Central Bank of Italia, located opposite the Parliament. The Corinthia Rome has been designed by the same team that designed the London property, will count 60 guest suites and rooms, and will offer a cuisine from renowned chef Carlo Cracco.Danilo Zucchetti, who most recently served as Vice President Operations for Baglioni Hotels, will act as Managing Director of teh property.
The Corinthia New York, in the Upper East side, is taking over The Surrey Hotel, and boasts 100 guest rooms and suites, and 14 residences. It will also feature the renowned Casa Tua members’ club. It will be the first property in the United-States for the group. Pradeep Raman is taking the helm of the opening after most recently serving as General Manager at the Baccarat Hotel & Residences in New York City.
The Corinthia Brussels is reviving the former Grand Hotel Astoria, built by King Leopold II in 1909, with the renovation requiring the re-building of almost all the internal structure while maintaining the original facade. The property will comprise 125 bedrooms and suites and feature spa facilities. With the acquisition of this actual palace, the company has firm ambitions to set its brand as the ultimate luxury stay in the Belgium capital. The hotel will be managed by Edward Leenders, who was previously Managing Director of Hotel de l’Europe in Amsterdam, and also held positions in Brussels.
Set in another historical building in Bucharest, theCorinthia Bucharest is also set to become an iconic landmark property in the Romanian capital. Formerly known as the Grand Hotel du Boulevard is undergoing a thorough reconstruction to welcome guests in the 30 suites while preserving the original architectural features that made its fame.
The group will also enter the Emirates, with a property in Doha, Corinthia Gewan Island, to open in two years, but will first open as a Yacht Club.
