THE HOTEL
Dolce Versailles will be an exceptional venue located in an inspiring haven of greenery at the South-West of Paris, just 23km from La Défense and Orly Airport, 16 km from the Chevreuse Valley and 9 km from Versailles Palace.
With 15 meeting and reception rooms, 178 guest rooms, suites and apartments, 2 restaurants, a bar, a stylish Spa and an outstanding park of more than 14 hectares, Dolce Versailles will offer the subtle balance between authentic French elegance and contemporary comfort.
 
The hotel is planned to have its door open in Q1 2020.
 
THE ROLE
The Director of Sales & Marketing will oversee and direct all aspects of the Sales and Marketing activities of the hotel. He/she will oversee the planning and development of promotional strategies and marketing plans, the development and implementation of the sales and marketing plan, effective management of the sales and marketing team and ensuring effectiveness of the plan. He/she is also required to maintain direct and routine interaction with Regional Sales and Marketing office.
 
Examples of the incumbent’s duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • Launch & opening of a new Mice hotel
  • Develops and implements the annual Sales and Marketing Plan
  • Develops business planning and sales strategies aimed at increasing the revenue, turnover and profitability, ensuring the achievement of the goals set by segments
  • Designates specific strategies for each market, channel, group and segment and sets goals to be achieved and/or exceeded
  • Is responsible for the proper management of pricing structures and the competitiveness of the rates, prices, discounts and supplements in coordination with the revenue manager / director of revenue
  • Key Accounts: monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within the market, and ensure that the Sales Team is held accountable for those accounts according to the configuration defined
  • Develop and maintains market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies
  • Develops prospecting, perception, acquisition, and loyalty retention for the customer / guest
  • Develop strategies to increase share from competitors
  • Promotes and develops opening of new markets.
  • Monitor the sales incentive plans and ensure that team members can explain their potential earnings and benefits, and assist in ensuring that incentives are processed and paid according to the specified time period for each plan
  • Conduct all Sales Team Performance Appraisals according to Wyndham SOP's
  • Establishes the marketing strategies and expenses that support those strategies, operating them within established parameters
  • Analyses, controls and monitors the cost and return on investment of the Sales and Marketing actions undertaken to achieve the goals
  • Coordinate all methods of maintaining and increasing business volume for other departments such as the spa, the restaurants, weddings, catering. This includes advertising, sales promotion, personal selling, publicity, community relations, special sales projects, social media etc.
  • Review regularly internal promotion pieces for visual effect and ensure they conform with brand standards
  • Interacts with individuals outside the hotel, including, but not limited to clients, Convention Bureaus, local Hotel Associations, Government Tourist offices, Airlines, Travel Agents, Tour Operators, competitors and other members of the local community
  • Participate as an active member of the community through associations, memberships and other trade organizations
  • Procure new and repeat business for the hotel
  • Review regularly the Public Relations activities to ensure high awareness of the hotel in the local and national media
  • Maintain good communication with Regional Sales and Marketing personnel and implement corporate initiatives.
  • Ensuring the Sales & Marketing team are being trained, developed and coached through regulate 1:1s in order to maximize their performance and potential 
  • Maintaining a business environment based on the Code of Conduct, Company Mission and Values
  • Inspiring a positive work environment, being a true Wyndham Hotel & Resorts and Dolce Ambassador

PROFILE
THE PERSON
 
The required professional experience, educational background, skills and abilities of the Director of Sales & Marketing is outlined as follows:
 
  • A recognized business or hospitality management qualification or a graduate degree in a Sales or Marketing discipline
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as functional sales and marketing leader within a hotel
  • Solid Mice experience
  • Previous marketing and social media experience
  • Experience of managing people / effective leadership
  • Four / Five star internationally managed hotel experience is desired
  • Competency in the use of hotel sales and revenue programmes
  • Highest  level of numeracy and literacy
  • Fluency in French and English is essential
  • A strong sense of commerciality and financial acumen
