Highlights of the Wine & Hospitality Management MSc

Studying wine and hospitality in France allows for an immersion in some of the world's most renowned epicenters of gastronomy, viticulture, and hospitality. Bordeaux, known as the global capital of wine, offers students access to prestigious vineyards, cutting-edge research centers, and a rich cultural heritage deeply intertwined with winemaking traditions. Meanwhile, Paris, with its vibrant culinary scene and cosmopolitan atmosphere, provides a dynamic backdrop for exploring the intricacies of hospitality management in diverse settings, from Michelin-starred restaurants to boutique hotels nestled in historic neighborhoods.

Interactive learning and professional engagement are core components of the programme. Students embark on a 6-month internship in various industry-related establishments, such as hotels, restaurants, or vineyards. This hands-on experience allows them to immerse themselves in real-world scenarios and deepen their understanding of the sectors. Additionally, they undertake a research project, focusing on real business issues under the guidance of an academic supervisor. This project culminates in a written report and oral presentation, contributing significantly to their final degree grade.

Students are guided by an experienced teaching team and exceptional industry speakers, including Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, renowned wine producers, and Masters of Wine. The training offered by KEDGE Wine School - available full-time, part-time, and at various admission levels - enables students to acquire a dual competence; that of management and all the disciplines related to international trade which KEDGE has made its specialty, and that of the industry, extremely specific, which offers increased employability to our graduates working in hotel establishments, in tourism, or more generally in the trade of related product

Founded in 2011, KEDGE Wine School harnesses the knowledge of its dedicated Research Centre to drive progress across diverse sectors such as food, wine, spirits, catering, hospitality, and tourism. Researchers at the centre are committed to initiatives such as promoting responsible consumption, showcasing rosé wines from Provence, and enhancing wine tourism. These efforts contribute significantly to nurturing future leaders who are responsible and well-equipped to excel in these sectors.

The programme provides an immersive experience where students engage with renowned professionals in the wine and hospitality industry, including winemakers, sommeliers, and seasoned managers. Through exclusive "business field trips," students visit prestigious vineyards in France and exceptional wine regions in South Africa, gaining practical insights into the dynamics of these sectors. This hands-on approach enhances their understanding of viticulture and hospitality. The exceptional environment allows students to explore the nuances of these industries and forge valuable connections with key players.

Through continuous connection between students, teachers, and companies, participants play an active role in their own academic development at KEDGE Wine School. Learning by practice, at the heart of the school's pedagogical philosophy, is an essential foundation. This promotes the development of directly applicable skills, thus enhancing the employability of graduates. The focus on practical experience helps to shape knowledgeable professionals ready to meet the challenges of the wine and hospitality world.
