What is now just a tremendous skeleton of concrete, glass and iron will soon be Fort Worth’s most luxurious hotel and high-rise address. The new Omni Fort Worth Hotel has been topped off and the residences at 1301 Throckmorton, 89 luxury residences being built atop the hotel, are beginning to take shape.

With an onsite team of more than 750, the native stone structure is being wrapped in glass, enclosing the building and allowing for interior elements to be added. The building’s first 15 floors will house the 607 luxury guest rooms and suites, 68,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space, five dining options and a full service Mokara Spa.

The construction team began pouring the concrete foundation for the first floor of residences on March 15, inline with the construction timeline and allowing the hotel to open in January 2009 and for residents to move in summer 2009. The building will require a total of 60,000 cubic yards of concrete, resulting in more than one million square feet.

The residences at 1301 Throckmorton will take hospitality to new heights. Residents will enjoy the ease and convenience of all hotel amenities and an array of luxurious dining options. Bob’s Steak & Chop House, Wine Thief and a full-service Starbuck’s will be on-site and easily accessible to residents. Units will offer stunning views of the Fort Worth skyline, as well as the private residence rooftop pool and terrace.

“Even with weather related challenges, the construction team has delivered impressive results,” says Bruce Johnston, project director. “As the project progresses, the sales teams are seeing a heightened interest from the community.”

Sales for the residences have been strong, and 25% of the space is under contract. With 12 different floor plans, future residents have options ranging from the luxurious and charming one-bedroom unit to a spacious four-bedroom penthouse with a 600 square foot balcony. Prices begin in the $650,000’s.
