White Lodging Opens Two New Hotels in Chicago's Northern Suburbs (United States)

Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn to offer travelers premium services and amenities

The Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn will offer contemporary,
affordable guestrooms that are within easy reach of both downtown Chicago and North suburban businesses
and attractions. Located in Mettawa, near Lake Forest, the five-story Hilton Garden Inn and five-story
Residence Inn bring together two highly-regarded hotel brands in one complex, catering to both extended
stay business and leisure travelers offering the top-tier amenities guests have come to expect from Hilton
and Marriott brand hotels.
White Lodging, owner and operator of the new hotels, is one of the fastest growing independent hospitality,
development and management companies in the country, managing a portfolio of more than 130 mid- to
large-scale hotels in seventeen states. The Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn are part of the company’s
ambitious growth plan to double in size over the next five years.
The 130-room Residence Inn, opening May 16, 2008, features Marriott’s stylish design and boasts a
residential feel. Studio, one- and two-bedroom suites come complete with plush bedding packages and
numerous details and amenities that are ideal for the changing needs of today’s traveler.
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce our high standard of comfort, service and value to the Mettawa
area,” says General Manager Sarah Secrist, who joins the Residence Inn after serving as General Manager
of a Residence Inn in Indianapolis, Ind. “The hotel offers truly unique touches and services that cater
perfectly to the long-stay and leisure traveler.”

Offering the warmth and comforts one expects to find in a Marriott brand hotel, amenities include
complimentary “Home Touch” daily hot breakfast buffet and a nightly manager’s reception, a 24-hour
business center with free wireless and high-speed Internet access, two onsite meeting spaces, onsite laundry
facilities and conveniences like grocery shopping and daily housekeeping.
The hotel also participates in the Marriott Rewards frequent guest program, where members can earn their
choice of points toward free vacations or frequent flyer mileage for dollars spent at Marriott hotels.
The 164-room and six-suite Hilton Garden Inn, opening May 23, 2008, features complimentary wireless
Internet access in guestrooms and public space, a complimentary 24-hour business center, a 24-hour
Pavilion Pantry with a selection of refrigerated, frozen and microwaveable packaged items and over 2,000
square feet of divisible meeting and banquet space that can accommodate groups of 10 to 225.
“The Hilton Garden Inn is conveniently located near many area attractions and corporations offering
guests easy access to everything they could need,” says General Manager Michael Hunt, who most recently
served as Impact General Manager for White Lodging before joining the Hilton Garden Inn team. “We
compliment the growing needs of both business and leisure travelers in the Mettawa area and offer them
true comforts, conveniences and services they would expect from a Hilton Garden Inn.”
Guest room accommodations and features include the Garden Sleep System™ bed, a 26-inch high definition
flat screen television with complimentary HBO®, an easy-to-set alarm clock that allows guests to play their
portable music player, a “hospitality center” that features a mini fridge, microwave oven and coffee maker
and a sitting area with an easy chair and ottoman.
Business-oriented features of the rooms include an adjustable and ergonomic Herman Miller chair, a
spacious and clutter-free work desk with electrical outlets at desk height, adjustable lighting and two
speaker telephones equipped with data ports and voice mail.
Both hotels offer a modern fitness center, open daily, equipped with elliptical machines, a cardio theatre,
lifecycles and more, as well as an enclosed swimming pool with adjoining whirlpool.
The Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn are close to numerous office parks such as Conway Business
Park, Lincolnshire Corporate Center & Corporate Woods Business Park with major nearby corporations
including HSBC, CDW, Grainger and Abbott. Area attractions are easily accessible and include Six Flags
Great America & Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, Gurnee Mills Premium Outlet Center, Ravinia Music Festival
& Marriott Theater, Didier Farms and the Great Lakes Naval Museum.
The Residence Inn and Hilton Garden Inn are located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago off I-94.
