-- Renaissance Providence Hotel Celebrates Their One-Year Anniversary with a AAA Four-Diamond Award and So Much More --

The Renaissance Providence Hotel, an up-scale, full-service hotel affiliated with the Marriott portfolio of branded luxury hotels, has received the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond Award. This is the most recent honor for a hotel that garnered accolades from travel critics, received enthusiastic reviews from guests, and contributed to the local community during its first year of operation.

"We are very pleased to be designated a Four-Diamond property by AAA," says Angelo De Peri, general manager of the Renaissance Providence Hotel. "A Four-Diamond rating affirms that we are one of the finest hotel properties in Providence, providing luxurious Rhode Island accommodations and amenities as well as quality customer service and hospitality to our guests. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, and are excited that AAA recognizes our efforts."

The hotel also received exceptional reviews from other travel review outlets, including Cond Nast Traveler, which recently named the hotel to their 2008 "Hot List." The annual list highlights the newest, hottest hotels, restaurants, spas and nightclubs that opened across the world in the last year.

Guests of the hotel have been flocking to travel review websites to express their satisfaction with the property. The Providence luxury hotel is rated the top hotel in Providence based on guest reviews from Trip Advisor, the leading travel review website. The Renaissance Providence Hotel is also receiving exceptional reviews from Expedia, the leading online travel provider. The downtown Providence hotel is ranked in the top one percent of hotels worldwide based on customer reviews on the site.

The Renaissance Providence's commitment also extends to the local community. Employees have lent a helping hand to several local charities throughout the year. Earlier this year, nearly 130 employees of Sage Hospitality Resources, the parent company of the Renaissance Hotel, assembled bikes for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence, inspected and packaged food at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and painted and cleaned at Crossroads Rhode Island.

In the year since its opening, the Renaissance has also given away more than 40 free hotel stays to local charities, such as the United Way, the All Children's Theater, and the Childhood Lead Action program. Many of these organizations often use the gifts for fundraising opportunities.

The Renaissance Providence Hotel was also honored for recent environmental initiatives. The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, in partnership with the Rhode Island Hospitality and Tourism Association, honored the hotel with Green Certification in April. This award recognizes Eco-friendly features throughout the hotel including energy-efficient windows and light fixtures, water-conserving faucets, Green Seal-certified cleaning products, and environmentally conscious guest room amenities.

In addition to its customer service initiatives, the Renaissance Providence Hotel has also received recognition for its outstanding revitalization of a once-abandoned building. Earlier this year, the Providence Preservation Society recognized the hotel as the most important historic renovation project in Providence.
