The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans (www.ritzcarlton.com/neworleans) will reopen on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. and will begin accepting reservations on Friday, September 5th. The hotel closed four (4) days earlier on Sunday, August 31st in accordance with a citywide mandatory evacuation order. Despite the effects of Hurricane Gustav, The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans did not incur any damage and it did not lose power, water, cable or internet capabilities. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. also manages The Iberville Suites (www.ibervillesuites.com), an all-suites property situated on the same block as The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans. The Iberville Suites will also reopen on Thursday, September 4th because it did not incur any damage or lose any city services. These two hotels comprise The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of New Orleans.

In the days prior to the hurricane, a toll-free number was established to provide updates for the ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of New Orleans. As the hotel stages its reopening, we ask that they continue to call the toll-free line at (866) 239-6580. Additional information and regular updates are also available on the website of the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau (www.nomcvb.com).

“We feel very fortunate to be able to reopen The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans and The Iberville Suites, welcoming visitors back to our great city,” said General Manager Myra deGersdorff. “The hotels are able to reopen because the city did not sustain any major damage as a result of Hurricane Gustav and our properties did not lose city services. We were part of a citywide and statewide plan that clearly demonstrated that New Orleans is prepared.”
