The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotels companies worldwide, announces the Radisson Blu Resort & Thalasso, Monastir in Tunisia. The existing 280 room-property will be re-branded and operated under the Radisson Blu brand as of November 2009.

“We are very pleased to add this hotel to our growing resort portfolio”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. “The Radisson Blu Resort & Thalasso, Monastir benefits from an excellent location on a five hectare beachfront site and is both a leisure and business destination of highest quality.” We are proud to be partners of such professionals as Rezidor”, adds Slim Zghal, President & CEO of Thalassa Hotels Tunisia and owner of the prestigious resort. “We are confident that not only our chain but also the city of Monastir will benefit from this Radisson Blu resort.”

The Radisson Blu Resort & Thalasso features 280 airy and elegantly designed rooms which recently have been fully renovated and include private balconies or terraces with garden-, pool- or sea view. Numerous bars, cafés and restaurants serve Tunisian, oriental and international specialities. At the private beach, around the pools, on tennis-, golf practice- and beach volleyball courts options for activities at land and on the water are almost endless; children are welcomed at a dedicated Kids Club. For those combining business and pleasure, conference & meeting facilities as well as a business centre are available. Three golf courses are located near the resort.

Most notable will be the resort’s brand new spas: Both Cinq Mondes Spa and Thal’ion Thalasso will pamper body and soul – the spa facilities will spread over 14,000 square meters and feature pools, saunas, hammams and treatment rooms. 20 unique “spa suites” will offer the ultimate wellness experience; their size will range from 70 to lavish 250 square meters. The full spa will focus on the legendary Thalasso treatments which use the power of seawater to benefit the body.

Monastir itself is an emerging oasis along one of North Africa’s most beautiful coastlines, and is easily reachable thanks to an International Airport. Tourist and historical attractions include a city centre with traditional shops and cafés, the Marina port, shopping and entertainment as well as a Mosque from the IX century and one of the region’s best preserved Ribats – a fortification built to protect the city.
