Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) has significantly expanded its “Marriott’s Rewarding Welcome,” which is the system that allows associates at eight of the brands participating in Marriott Rewards to anticipate and deliver on members’ personal stay preferences. The expanded program now allows guests to request extra towels, foam pillows, refrigerators and newspaper preference (where available). Marriott Rewards members can enter their preferences into their Marriott Rewards accounts and the information is recorded for delivery globally at Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott Vacation Club International, Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites brands.

The information is accessible at more than 2,600 hotels worldwide and throughout multiple guest touch points, such as when a reservation is made through the reservations center.

“We recognize that our guests want their personal preferences met when they stay with us, and we have expanded the Marriott’s Rewarding Welcome system to accommodate many more of their members’ needs,” said Ed French, senior vice president of customer relationship marketing. “Knowing what our customers want and delivering on those desires without their having to ask is what Marriott is keenly focused on.”

He added that guests played a large role in shaping the system enhancements. “We only store information that our Marriott Rewards members input themselves, and only record things that both we and our guests believe will benefit them through their Marriott experiences,” said French.

Marriott Rewards membership is free to join and allows members to earn points or airline miles for every dollar they spend at eight Marriott International lodging brands. Points can be redeemed for free hotel stays, merchandise, rental cars, cruises, adventure travel tours, theme park tickets and more.

With 2,600 participating hotels and 22 million members worldwide, Marriott Rewards provides travelers the opportunity to get to the places they dream of 30 percent faster than with other leading programs.*
