Central Hotels & Resorts, together with an investor, has taken over Phuket Islandia Hotel on Karon Beach in Phuket, Thailand. Central paid THB1.05 billion (US$27 million) to purchase the hotel and will invest another THB150 million (US$3.9 million) to renovate it.
The property will be renamed Central Karon Beach Resort, Phuket. A four-star mid-rise resort with views of Karon Beach, the property is a step towards Central Hotels & Resorts' goal of having 22 hotels & resorts by the year 2010.
