Working Mother magazine applauds company

Peggy Fang Roe, vice president, global brand management for Marriott International, has found the right balance between leading a major brand and raising a young family. Peggy's story, like so many other Marriott associates is a true testament to the company's culture and one of the many reasons behind Working Mother magazine naming Marriott to its elite list of the 2010 Working Mother 100 Best Companies.

Because of Marriott's family-friendly programs, Peggy is able to raise a young family and have a successful career. In fact, Peggy, who often travels with her son, has used her own experiences to help develop Marriott's Tots Travel Too(TM) program, which is designed to help make travel easier for families with young children. In this brief video (www.youtube.com), Peggy talks about her career and personal life, and how Marriott helps her achieve her goals in both of these worlds.

"Marriott's long-standing culture of taking care of its employees, many of whom are working parents, is the key to the success of the company," said David Rodriguez, executive vice president of global human resources. "Marriott's family-friendly benefits and programs help create a work environment that enables associates to maintain integration between work and home, while they continue to advance in their careers."

This year, the magazine made special mention of Marriott's Women's Leadership Development Initiative, flexible work schedules, and the company's mentoring, coaching and networking programs. A complete list of the 2010 Working Mother 100 Best Companies, and Marriott's story can be found at www.workingmother.com.

Earlier this year, Working Mother magazine also named Marriott a "best company for hourly workers," and the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE) recognized the company as a "Top Company for Executive Women."
