Preferred Hotel Group, a leading provider of sales and marketing support to independent hotels around the world, has announced the launch of its first Group Desk for English and German speaking meeting planners and travel agencies in Europe. The announcement of the Group Desk follows the launch of PHGmeetings.com, a sophisticated online portal for meeting professionals who want to book groups at Preferred Hotel Group member hotels.

The Group Desk will operate with a toll free number (00 800 8844 8848) and has a dedicated email address (groupdesk@preferrredhotelgroup.com) to enable meeting planners to access over 650 hotels for group bookings. The Group Desk will provide a “white glove” service to meeting and incentive planners with an assigned Account Manager offering assistance throughout the booking process.

The addition of the Group Desk is a further demonstration of Preferred Hotel Group’s commitment and dedication to the MICE segment. Earlier this year, the company named Sylvia Smith as Director of Group Sales for the UK & Ireland. Sylvia has been in the luxury hospitality industry for the past 10 years, with the past 7 years spent at Hyatt.

On the Continent, Gregor Rummel, Director of Group Sales for Europe, has over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry and has held executive positions in sales and marketing at several leading hotel companies.

“We are excited to announce our Group Sales Desk as part of a series of enhancements to our European operations,” said Susan Devine, Executive Vice President, Europe. “The Group Desk is a welcome addition to our European infrastructure, and we look forward to further facilitating the booking process for Meeting and Incentive professionals.”

Preferred Hotel Group also recently launched PHGmeetings.com, an online portal that integrates 650 Preferred Hotel Group member hotels with EMI’s SpeedRFP system. The portal has already been adopted by more than 3,800 meeting professionals worldwide.
