Steve Winter, vice president of operations for Outrigger’s Condominium Collection is pleased to announce the appointments of Dale Stetson as General Manager, and Lester Shim as Assistant General Manager of the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa, one of the newest members of Outrigger’s Condominium Collection on Kauai, and scheduled to open in December 2006.
Dale Stetson
In his role as general manager, Stetson is responsible for ensuring a smooth property opening and the day-to-day operation of the property. He oversees all departments including housekeeping, security, maintenance, and front
office. Over his 28 year career in the hospitality field, Stetson has gained valuable work experience at many condominium resorts throughout the U.S., including holding general manager positions at Kamaole Sands and Papakea
Resort, both on the island of Maui; Port Royal “By the Sea” Resort in Texas; Kaluakoi Hotel and Golf Club on Molokai, Hawaii; Cliffs at Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii; and Moonlight Basin Lodge at Big Sky, Montana. Stetson was
also employed as general manager for East West Resorts in Breckenridge, Colorado. Most recently, Stetson held the position of Director, Northern Region Resort Operations for Trendwest/Worldmark in Redmond Washington where
he was responsible for overseeing the operations of 10 timeshare resorts in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Stetson holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
Lester Shim
As Assistant General Manager, Shim is responsible for overseeing all daily functions of the resort for both the Association of Apartment Owners and the Outrigger rental program. Shim is an Outrigger veteran and has held various
positions throughout the company including assistant hotel manager and hotel managers for several Outrigger/OHANA properties beginning in 1982. Most recently, Shim served as the Operations Project Manager for Outrigger Enterprises Group's multi-million dollar Waikiki Beach Walk™ redevelopment project. In this capacity, Shim liquidated and prepared some of the hotels
associated with the redevelopment for demolition and renovation. Shim holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Marketing and also is an AHMA Certified Hotel Administrator.
