In a further endorsement of its leading hotel and hospitality programs, Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) at Torrens University Australia has been recently ranked as the number one Hotel Management school in the Asia-Pacific and number three in the world by market research conducted by TNS.

Since the last survey in 2013, BMIHMS has retained its position as the number one Hotel Management school in the Asia-Pacific, but has moved up in the global rankings from twelfth to third – a phenomenal achievement,said Mr Jerome Casteigt, General Manager – Hospitality, BMIHMS at Torrens University.

TNS is one of the largest market research companies in the world, offering reliable and powerful insights. The survey sample asked hundreds of industry insiders, mostly engaged by luxury international chain hotels who are responsible for the recruitment and hiring of graduates in the hospitality industry, their views on graduates from a range of hospitality and hotel management schools around the world.

Compared to all other hospitality schools in Australia and the Asia-Pacific, BMIHMS was clearly the one with the highest global profile. Amongst those who placed BMIHMS in their top 10 worldwide, just over a third ranked them as number one and 60 per cent ranked them in the top three,” added Mr Casteigt

Other key findings:

> Blue Mountains School dominates the market in Asia-Pacific and Australia, with over 70 per cent of respondents naming it in the top five schools;
> As was the case in the 2013 global survey, around 6 in 10 of respondents stated that they would have a preference for graduates with international experience – a key aspect of each program delivered by BMIHMS is international experience;
> 40 per cent of respondents indicated their organisation had recruited graduates from BMIHMS in the last two years, considerably more than any of the other schools based in Australia.
