This action reaffirms the Hotel’s commitment to reduce plastic waste, and specifically the hazards to marine life caused by conventional plastic straws.
"We are continually looking for means to reduce the environmental impact of our hotel and banning the use of plastic straws in our bars and restaurants represents a significant step in this direction. This is just one out of many initiatives we are working on to minimize the use of plastic in our hotel. However, in order to maintain the quality standards of the beverages served to our customers, some cocktails will keep PLA straws – a fully biodegradable material” says Serge Ethuin, General Manager of Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo.“Green Attitude” Since 2007, The Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo has established an environmental policy called "Green Attitude" whose main objective is to reduce the impact of its activity on the planet and preserve biodiversity. This commitment was formalized in various charters and open to all: employees, suppliers, subcontractors, and seeks to educate its customers. For this, the Metropole Hotel has started selecting sorting, recycling water and energy, increased its green purchasing, obtained environmental certifications, organized training and created a "Green Committee" composed of staff members from different services. The Hotel Métropole gives priority to suppliers who share these values, inviting them to implement a responsible and sustainable purchasing policy. The "Green Attitude" has developed considerably and is now part of the Hotel Metropole corporate culture.About Hotel Metropole Monte-CarloIdeally situated in the Carré d’Or, within walking distance of the Casino, Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. In collaboration with the House of Givenchy, the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo is proud to announce the opening of the new Spa Metropole by Givenchy since April 2017.
