The Crowne Plaza Glasgow outshone its peers at the recent 4th annual Scottish Hotels of the Year Awards, picking up both the Glasgow Hotel of the Year 2007 as well as the Scottish Conference Hotel of the Year 2007 Awards.

These awards are testament to the hard work and commitment from the entire team at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow. Furthermore, such valued industry recognition completes a great year which has seen the refurbishment of the whole hotel. This includes all 283 bedrooms and suites, the Conference & Banqueting areas and the Health & Fitness Club, alongside the introduction of two Club floors with a dedicated Club Lounge and a new Restaurant concept.

The hard work of the hotel team under the leadership of the General Manager, Dominic J McVey, and the extensive work undertaken to modernise the property, combined with the Crowne Plaza's strong brand values and levels of quality service, have ensured that both business and leisure guests have a truly great hotel to stay in that the city can be proud of.

This year's event, organised by HotelReviewScotland.com, brought together a distinguished audience which included Minister for Tourism Patricia Ferguson and First Minister Alex Salmond among the 520 attendees. The awards are established as the most prestigious in Scotland and attract both public and trade interest, with more than 25,000 consumer votes cast across the different categories.

Dominic J McVey, General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Glasgow, said: "We are obviously delighted to have been presented with both of these awards. To be named the best hotel in Glasgow is a real honour, and to have this backed up by being cited as the best conference hotel in Scotland shows that we are certainly getting the mix right at the Crowne Plaza.

"The hotel has a prime location by the world-class Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) and the property's redesign, providing our guests with improved conference facilities, will greatly benefit the whole business community in the west of Scotland. We are looking forward to the year ahead and to taking the hotel from strength to strength."
