Nominated as Oman’s Leading Resort and Oman’s Leading Spa Resort, Six Senses Zighy Bay was awarded both titles in April 2012. Attending the gala ceremony of the Middle East World Travel Awards was John Philipson, Managing Director and Axel Jarosch, General Manager. Axel accepted the awards, immediately placing the reward back in the hands of the hosts at Six Senses Zighy Bay, stating, “This is truly a Team effort. I am honoured to stand here and represent the devotion and expertise of all the hosts in Zighy Bay. We have surpassed expectations by creating exceptional and unique experiences and fulfilling guest desires."
This is the third consecutive year that Six Senses Zighy Bay is awarded the honour of Oman’s Leading Resort. Adding to the long list of accolades, Six Senses Zighy Bay now holds a total of 7 World Travel Awards since the resort’s inception in 2008; notably including World’s Leading New Resort 2009, Middle East’s Leading Luxury Beach Resort 2010 and Middle East’s Leading Luxury Resort 2011. This is the first year of nomination as Oman’s Leading Spa Resort.
Axel enthused about the awards, “These accolades reward the resort at a great time of transformation; recently launched personalized Wellness Programmes, evolving dining options throughout our bars and restaurants, creating an adventure and outward-bound based teenage club and children’s programmes and refining aesthetic touches throughout the resort.
