In keeping with the successful restoration of its public areas and the introduction of Matsuhisa Munich in 2015, the hotel has now unveiled all new guest rooms and suites to confirm its postion as one of the leading luxury hotels in Germany.
"We are delighted to present our new and beautifully designed rooms and suites at Mandarin Oriental, Munich. Each room incorporates comfortable and skilfull updates and a fresh new look and feel that includes artwork which pays tribute to Munich’s geographical location as the gateway to the Alps. We are also proud to be one of the first hotels in Germany to have replaced all single-use plastic items in our rooms and bathrooms with sustainable alternatives that we hope our guests will appreciate.” said Dominik G. Reiner, General Manager. “The team and I look forward to welcoming our guests and delivering memorable experiences and the personalized and discreet service that we are renowned for,” he added.

In celebration, the hotel has created a special Staycation by M.O., available until 31 March 2021. Priced from EUR 600, this includes:
  • Daily breakfast
  • A bottle of Champagne
  • Daily credit of EUR 100, redeemable throughout the hotel, including Matsuhisa Munich’s Saturday Sushi Masterclasses
  • Early check-in from 10 am
  • Late check-out until 4 pm
  • Complimentary valet parking

Guestrooms and Suites

Hamburg-based design studio cm-Design has implemented a well-orchestrated mix of styles, colours and patterns, combining furniture with historic heritage with a fresh and contemporary look and colour scheme. The hotel has collaborated with renowned brands such as Ligne Roset, Bavarian-based and family-run carpenter Felix Graf and House of Tai Ping, the esteemed manufacturer of textile floor coverings headquartered in Hong Kong.

In addition to state-of-the art technology in every room and suite, the completely redesigned bathrooms in black and white tones incorporate advanced sustainable technologies to minimize energy and water consumption. Guests will enjoy a variety of newly introduced in-room amenitites and services, ranging from personalised butlers to locally produced biodegradable coffee capsules for Nespresso machines, a private bar with daily creations by Matsuhisa Munich and a champagne experience served directly from the custom-made trolley every afternoon.

Artwork

New art concepts can be enjoyed in each room, which feature individual mountain images by local artist Felix Rehfeld – student of Karin Kneffel, one of the most well-known female contemporary artists in Germany and master pupil of Gerhard Richter. The centrepiece of the collection, an art installation of 100 miniature mountain paintings, is prominently displayed in the lobby of the hotel. The art in all suites includes a mountain massif exclusively produced for the hotel by Royal Bavarian porcelain manufacturer, Nymphenburg.
