The International Hotel Investment & Design Conference (IHIDC, established in 2007) and Hospitality Gipfel have been the two key platforms in recent years where the industry’s leading hotel investors, developers, operators and advisors in Austria and CEE came together.
As of 2021, the two previously independent conferences will be merged and renamed to 196+ forum Vienna, focusing on hospitality investment & innovation. This year the conference will be taking place at the Hotel Andaz Am Belvedere on 29 November.
Michael Widmann, Global CEO of the PKF hospitality group: “After more than one year of virtual meetings and online conferences, it is certainly time to meet again and to join an exciting programme with innovative speakers and capturing panels. We will be focusing on trends in resort development, socio-demographic change and serviced living, ESG strategies in hospitality, real estate and mobility as well as HR challenges in times of digital transformation.”
One of the highlights will be the presentation of the “Brand Award” by Modul University.
For this award, established in 2016, students evaluate the most innovative hotels on the market which respond to the needs of the fastest growing group of consumers, millennials.
The key topic this year is sustainability.
During the conference, the students of Modul University will present their findings, thus combining academic studies with current demand analyses.

196+ forum is the new format of the PKF hospitality group for hospitality investment conferences – this year in Milan, Munich, and Vienna, with other locations expected from 2022 onwards.
