Solo glamping is glamping where you enjoy alone time in nature. Experience alone time through the sounds of the crackling bonfire, the flickering of the flames, meals using seasonal and fresh ingredients from the mountains, and the release of self as you move your body in nature.

Background

HOSHINOYA Fuji is the perfect accommodation for those who want to enjoy nature in the forest and camping without the hassle to prepare specific equipment. With the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, there is a higher demand for traveling solo as well as spending time outdoors in nature. We decided to create this all-year experience of solo glamping so that guests can experience the best part of glamping even without the presence of peers.

Characteristics of the Program

1) Supported by “Glamping Masters” at the resort

The staff at HOSHINOYA Fuji are all “Glamping Masters,” who are knowledgeable about the outdoors. From check-in to check-out, our staff will support guests along the way for a comfortable and fulfilling private stay at the resort. During check-in in the guest rooms, our staff will propose a schedule based on the needs of the guests’ such as wanting to move the body in nature to feel refreshed, or simply wanting to spend a relaxing time in nature, for a perfect solo glamping stay package.

2) Activities for solo travelers

At HOSHINOYA Fuji, there are a number of activities available for solo travelers. For example, there is the “Fuji no Jukai Nature Tour” to explore the forest near Mt. Fuji, “Aerial Stretching” to stretch out the body in the forest using fabric bands, and the “Private Electric Bicycle Tour” to tour around the foothills of Mt. Fuji. These programs are hosted outside and are either open to a pair or a small number of people so guests will be able to avoid crowds, close contact, and poor ventilation. In addition, all activities are supported by “Glamping Masters” or experienced tour guides where the necessary equipment is prepared for you, which is always helpful to new campers.

3) Fully equipped for a comfortable stay

The design of the rooms is simple and kept to minimal, where it is intended for guests to spend most of their stay time outdoors. Despite its compactness, the rooms are furnished with heated floors, baths, toilets for a comfortable stay. The best part of camping can be enjoyed at our resort where there is no worry about having to set up tents and evacuating when it starts to rain. There are no clocks and TVs so by spending time alone with the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, guests are invited to fully relax and let go of any tension in their body. Meals can also be enjoyed in the rooms, at the terrace living room, where guests can enjoy the fresh air whilst comfortably seated on a sofa outdoors. We recommend the “Shabu-shabu” hot pot for dinner and the “Morning BOX” for breakfast, which all incorporate seasonal ingredients and reflect local food culture.
