Liz Brand, IMEX Head of Hosted Buyer Relationship Management Hosted buyer registrations are pacing 25% ahead compared to the same time last year.
Driving the momentum is demand from the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, South and Central America. In addition, registrations from Canada are tracking the same as last year.
The number of association hosted buyers registered to date has exceeded the total registered for the previous edition, with strong representation across the healthcare, education and trade association sectors.
Some of the major global brands represented by registered planners include AMEX GBT, Estée Lauder, IBM, Nike, SAP, and Walmart.
Liz Brand, IMEX Head of Hosted Buyer Relationship Management, explains: “There’s a real buzz building around this year’s show, and in ways that have surprised us given the wider economic picture. Our newly enhanced customer service support means we’ve been able to begin conversations with buyers earlier to build their ‘IMEXperience’. Essentially, it’s about helping them make the most of their time at IMEX America and connect to the people, products and partnerships that really hit the mark for their business needs.”
International supplier roster
The scope of exhibitors is shaping up to be geographically diverse, enabling buyers to meet with destinations, venues, hotels and technology specialists from around the world over three days at the show.
Exhibitors from across Europe (Hungary, Scotland and Slovenia), Asia (China) and Africa (Morocco) are among those expanding their footprint at the show. Hotel groups Hilton, Raddison and Millennium are also increasing their presence from last year.
Stellar speaker lineup
The show’s nine-track education program, which goes live online later this month, has been designed to support face-to-face business connections and elevate personal development.
A stellar speaker lineup covers experiential event design; marketing and engagement; tech innovation and AI among others. IMEX has also introduced two new tracks: Community Builders, and Leadership and Culture.
Names to watch out for include:
- Sandy Safi: Co-founder of Dîner en Blanc International. This French-inspired urban picnic has now become a global experiential event
- Laura Hess: Experience strategist and founding member of the World Experience Organization. She’ll share her ‘Remarkable’ methodology—the result of attending 500 immersive experiences in five years
- Reverend Barbara Ann Michaels: A New York-based interfaith minister and performance artist known as the "Jester of the Peace." She combines humor, art, and spirituality in her work
Many of the shows 150+ education sessions offer points toward Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) accreditation, are also CSEP (Certified Special Event Professional) Approved and ICCASkills accredited.
