Édouard Plaisance is now head of the Groupe Caze group's new entity, Caze Hospitality

For more than 20 years, he has navigated his way through prestigious brands in the international hotel industry, placing profitability at the heart of his strategy without ever compromising on human values and high standards of service. Édouard Plaisance, whose name is synonymous with hospitality professionals, has embarked on a new adventure with Caze Hospitality, a brand of the Groupe Caze, officially launched on Thursday 11 September 2025.

Backed by a parent company with a solid foundation in commercial real estate since 2009, Caze Hospitality is structuring existing expertise, giving it its own identity and a team entirely dedicated to creating value in the hotel industry. At the helm, Édouard Plaisance, as director, intends to deploy a tried and tested methodology: analyse, reposition, transform.

“My career has always led me to reveal the hidden potential of hotel assets,” he tells Journal des Palaces. His trademark? An approach focused on turning around struggling properties, optimising revenue management, creating additional income and implementing relevant repositioning strategies. His credo: to generate sustainable performance while respecting the DNA of the location.

Caze Hospitality was thus conceived as an agile and expert structure, capable of supporting every player in the industry, whether investors, owners, groups or independents, at every stage of a hotel's life cycle, from feasibility studies to outsourced management.

More than just a service provider, Caze Hospitality aims to become a trusted partner, committed to operational excellence and profitability. A tailor-made and demanding approach, led by a man of action who combines strategic intuition, financial rigour and a love of the profession.

Journal des Palaces: What is the DNA and mission of the Groupe Caze?

Édouard Plaisance: Groupe Caze is a leading player in commercial real estate, founded in Lille in 2009 and now firmly established in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with a national and European vision. Its DNA is based on a strong conviction: real estate is a strategic lever for economic, social and territorial development.

We offer a comprehensive, integrated service organized around five complementary areas: commercial property, management, hospitality, home, and insurance and assets. This structure enables us to offer a 360° approach that is expert, human and tailor-made, serving investors, businesses, and individuals.

The Groupe Caze's mission is clear: to support and enhance our guests' real estate projects with high standards, transparency, and proximity. We act as a trusted partner, combining strategic advice, technical expertise, legal support and operational solutions.

Our values – trust, listening, high standards, commitment, and solidarity – are the foundation of our actions and relationships. They reflect our desire to build a sustainable company, guided by transparency, agility and a collective spirit.

You are launching Caze Hospitality, a division specialized in the hotel industry. Why are you setting up a dedicated division within the group, and what is the vision behind this launch?

The hotel industry department has existed for nearly eight years within Caze commercial property. But we are launching a brand dedicated to the hotel industry with Caze Hospitality within the group because we wanted to focus our communication on a very specific and technical market segment, which requires specialized skills and an in-depth understanding of its cycles. As director of the Hospitality division, with over 20 years of international experience in the luxury hotel industry and the repositioning of all types of assets, I wanted to give this industry a dedicated entity.

The vision behind this launch is twofold:
  • To support investors and owners with a one-stop shop capable of covering all stages of a hotel's life cycle.
  • To provide on-the-ground expertise through a multidisciplinary team, combining financial performance and operational excellence.

What guest profiles do your offerings cater to?

Our services are aimed at three main profiles:
  • Investors (funds, family offices, individuals) who wish to acquire, sell or reposition assets.
  • Operators and hotel groups seeking to expand.
  • Independent owners who need to structure their projects, sell or acquire assets, outsource management or increase the value of their property.

You want to cover the entire life cycle of a hotel. At what stages can you intervene and how?

We are involved in the entire hotel value chain:
  • Research and valuation: market analysis, feasibility, valuation.
  • Acquisition and disposal: networking, negotiation, structuring, due diligence.
  • Financing and investment: fundraising, modelling, restructuring.
  • Development and repositioning: long-term strategy, asset conversion, concept creation.
  • Outsourced management: complete management of operations (revenue management, human resources, distribution, guest satisfaction, catering, maintenance).

What synergies do you draw on within the Groupe Caze group?

Groupe Caze is a global real estate group, which allows us to combine expertise. In commercial real estate, we benefit from robust financial analysis, but also in retail and residential real estate, to understand local and regional dynamics. Finally, the group's strong roots give us an extensive network of investors, operators, and partners in France and Europe.

Can we expect to see Caze hotels emerge? If not, to what extent are you involved in the operational side of hotels?

Our role is primarily that of advisor, partner, and manager. We are not developing a Caze hotel brand, but we can go as far as taking on the complete management of properties on behalf of third parties. This means that we can manage the day-to-day performance of a hotel, while preserving the owners' vision and maximising profitability.

How is Caze Hospitality structured today, and what are your medium- and long-term development ambitions?

Today, Caze Hospitality relies on a team of multidisciplinary experts:
  • Transaction and financing specialists,
  • Operational profiles from the hotel industry,
  • Consultants capable of working on both strategy and day-to-day management.
In the medium term, we want to strengthen our presence in major French and European cities and become the independent benchmark for investors and operators seeking end-to-end support.

In the long term, our ambition is to build a portfolio of hotels managed by Caze Hospitality, with a selective and qualitative approach, to demonstrate our ability to generate sustainable performance.
