Cap Karoso, a multi-award-winning resort (Ahead Award Best Hotel in Asia, Travel + Leisure It List, Condé Nast Traveler Gold List, Tatler Asia The Best 100), is seeking its new Executive Chef. Located on the island of Sumba, just a 1-hour flight from Bali, the resort features 47 rooms, 20 villas, 3 restaurants, 2 bars, and a 3-hectare organic farm.
Cap Karoso is also the host of the Sumba Food Festival, bringing 10 internationaly renown chefs (Michelin starred or 50 Best Asia) to Sumba every October for a one of a kind culinary festival.
Renowned for its visionary approach to gastronomy, Cap Karoso hosts approximately 15 resident chefs annually in one of its restaurants. The new Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in leading this initiative.
Profile:
- Ambitious, organized, and creative, with a passion for mentorship.
- Significant experience in the culinary field.
- Previous experience in hospitality or managing multiple restaurants.
- Experience in Asia, ideally in Indonesia, is a strong advantage.
- Experience in remote locations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all kitchens, dining services, and the organic farm.
- Host guest chefs in one of our restaurants (approximately 15 per year).
- Develop the culinary offerings for upcoming projects, including:).

- Couples are welcome if the spouse/partner works in hospitality (front of house or sommelier).
- Position available starting asap, with a minimum commitment of 2 years.
