Cap Karoso, a multi-award-winning resort (Ahead Award Best Hotel in Asia, Travel + Leisure It List, Condé Nast Traveler Gold List, Tatler Asia The Best 100), is looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead its team and operations. Located on the idyllic island of Sumba, just a 1-hour flight from Bali, the resort features 47 rooms, 20 villas, 3 restaurants, 2 bars, and a 3-hectare organic farm, combining world-class hospitality with a unique, remote island experience.

Cap Karoso prides itself on delivering exceptional luxury experiences, from high-end gastronomy with 15 guest chefs in residence annually, to signature events like the Sumba Food Festival, and a full range of bespoke guest services. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence, inspiring the team, and maintaining the resort’s prestigious reputation.

Profile:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as General Manager in top-tier luxury resorts or 5-star hotels.

  • Experienced in managing remote or destination resorts, with a hands-on approach.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering flawless guest experiences.

  • Strong financial acumen, operational oversight, and team development skills.

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of resort operations, including rooms, F&B, spa, activities, and events.

  • Ensure the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction.

  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

  • Implement operational strategies, budgets, and performance metrics aligned with the resort’s objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, health, safety, and sustainability standards.

  • Represent the resort externally and maintain its prestigious image among guests, partners, and stakeholders.

Additional Information:

  • Position available in December, 24-month contract.

  • Hands-on, decisive, and capable of thriving in a remote luxury environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
