As part of its strategy of portfolio expansion in Turkey, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has just signed a management agreement with the Varan Group for a 5-star business hotel in Ankara. The Mövenpick Hotel Ankara, which is to comprise of 150 rooms and suites, is scheduled to open in 2010.
“The Swiss hotel group has made an excellent name for itself in Turkey,” says Enis Pekuysal, Chairman of the Varan Group. “So we’re delighted to be realising our project with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.”
“One of our stated expansion objectives was to be represented also in the Turkish capital in the foreseeable future, and we are proud to be working together with the Varan Group,” explains Jean Gabriel Pérès, President & CEO Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. “The opening of the Mövenpick Hotel Izmir in February and the new Ankara project complete our strategically important rectangle between Istanbul, Bodrum, Izmir and Ankara.”
The Mövenpick Hotel Ankara is centrally located in the Sogutozu district, in the immediate vicinity of ministries, government buildings, conference centre and large companies. The International Airport is 30 minutes away.
150 spacious and modern appointed rooms and suites will cater for all the needs of business travellers. The main restaurant with its show kitchen and the Hotel Bar will serve trademark Mövenpick specialities while the fitness, leisure and spa area will offer guests plenty of opportunities for exercise or relaxation. An area of 1,100 sqm has been set aside for conferences and banquets. The multi-storey car park has space for 90 cars.
