President of Ghana inaugurates new Golden Tulip in Kumasi City

President John Agyekum Kufuor inaugurated the Four-star Golden Tulip Kumasi City

The long awaited opening of the former Kumasi City Hotel is now a reality. The new hotel, Golden Tulip Kumasi City, which is owned by the Ghana Libya Arab Holding Company (GLAHCO), was formally opened by the President H.E. Mr. J. A. Kufuor, assisted by Mr. Abdulhamed Karmus, president of Ghana-Lybian Arab holding, on January 12, 2008.

Opened for the first time in 1962, The Kumasi City Hotel was a state managed hotel until the year 2000 when it was put up for divestiture. The completely refurbished Golden Tulip Kumasi City is the first international hotel in the city of Kumasi.

Golden Tulip Kumasi City is a four-star Superior First Class hotel conveniently located 30 minutes away from the Kumasi International Airport. The hotel is set in extensive tropical gardens combining both local and foreign décor. Full of ambiance, the hotel is ideal for both business and leisure clients.

The hotel offers 160 luxuriously furnished rooms, which include suites and apartments. Aside of standard in-room facilities, the hotel has a large conference and function rooms with capacity for up to 450 people and up to 900 people for receptions, several meeting areas, business centre, a bar lounge, a restaurant, shops, swimming pool, casino and tennis courts.
