SYRENA HOTELS WARSAW COMMISSIONS ALEXANDER HUSCHKA TO MANAGE THE HOTEL
New man at the top of the Polonia Palace Hotel: Alexander Huschka to take over management of Syrena Hotels Warsaw's Polonia Palace Hotel as general manager on January 1st 2008. Prior to relocating to Warsaw, he was managing director of COLUMBIA Hotels & Resorts. The 57-year old Austrian boasts international hotel management experience. He will be reporting directly to the Management Board of Hotele Warszawskie “Syrena” Sp. z o.o. Tony Reypens, who is responsible for finance and operations at the board said: “We are extremely pleased that we were able to recruit a man with such an experience and reputation to manage this wonderful hotel. I am sure it will be a perfect fit.”
Mr. Huschka was quoted as saying: "I am very pleased about this new, professional challenge, because the Polonia Palace Hotel, located at the heart of Warsaw, is a hotel with a historic past and, since its extensive refurbishment, has become a meeting place for both local and international guests. We will continue to offer the best possible service to our guests and in this growing and exciting market we are convinced we will be further successful."
Amongst other positions, the passionate hotelier was employed by Renaissance Hotels for ten years. During this time, Alexander Huschka opened and managed hotels in Vienna, Bangkok, Los Angeles and Prague. For two years, he worked as director of operations on behalf of holding company HPI (Hotel Property Investors) for 36 European hotels managed by Marriott under the Marriott, Courtyard and Renaissance brands. Prior to this, Alexander Huschka managed the Radisson SAS Hotel in Berlin and the InterContinental Hotel in Leipzig - now the Westin – for Deutsche Interhotel Holding GmbH & Co. KG.
During his international hotel career, Alexander Huschka was also managing director of Bertelsmann AG's Parkhotel Gütersloh for four years. Further stations in his professional life have included the pre-opening of yacht harbour residence Hohe Düne in Rostock, associate partner at B&P Hotel Management Services GmbH in Frankfurt, the SI Center with Hotel am Schlossgarten in Stuttgart, the Bayerischer Hof hotel in Munich and the London Park Lane Hilton.
