Constantly at the forefront of cool, Per Aquum’s flagship resort, Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives, continues to offer guests unique luxury experiences in 2008 including, on April 1, an exclusive performance by world renowned DJ, José Padilla.

José Padilla is best known for his incredibly successful Café del Mar album series, beloved of the rich and famous, which popularised the emotionally charged sunset sessions at Ibiza’s legendary beach café bar. Whilst that series is still going strong, he has begun to move into fresher territory; with his latest offering in the form of ‘Café Solo’. Café Solo 2 - José Padilla was released in late 2007, following a successful appearance at The Big Chill festival in the UK, where Padilla played to an audience of over 35,000 yet retained an intimate atmosphere.

José is the fourth music icon to visit Huvafen Fushi in conjunction with the resort’s Dream Calendar, following visits from Claude Challe, DJ Ravin (who went on to release Huvafen Fushi Maldives by Ravin) and Charles Shillings. The cutting-edge resort is dedicated to hosting only the most outstanding talent and general manager Marc Reader says “Our guests have the freedom to combine the luxury and pampering of their holiday with the innovative sounds of international DJs flown in especially for them. In addition to the amazing diving, spa and water sports available in the Maldives, the Per Aquum traveller is looking for innovation and exclusivity. Huvafen Fushi provides that experience through its Dream Calendar.”

Guests at Huvafen Fushi on 1 April will experience this amazing night sipping Champagne on the beach with their shoes kicked off and toes buried in the fine, white sand. The resort’s chefs will prepare an elaborate dinner of fresh seafood, salads, cheeses and barbeque dishes. On the turntables, José will set the mood with his latest release of cutting edge sounds from Gui Boratto and Per Lindstromm with some incredible contemporary tracks from the likes of Thievery Corporation and Chilled By Nature. These new tracks will sit alongside classics by Mercury Rev, Brazilian samba jazz act Azymuth and Daniel Ash’s little-known Tones On Tail project.
