Crestline Hotels & Resorts today announced the completion of a major renovation of the 216 room Courtyard by Marriott(R) Providence Downtown. The renovation includes all of the hotel's guest rooms, lobby, public areas, and meeting space. The downtown Courtyard by Marriott is owned by Barcelo Crestline Corporation and managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts.

Cathy Hamill, General Manager of the Providence Courtyard said, "The timing is perfect to upgrade the hotel as it allows us to maintain our competitive position as a leading hotel in the downtown Providence area and exceed the expectations of our guests not only in service but also with our new product."

The enhancements to the Providence Courtyard are based on feedback from hotel guests and are part of the reinvention of its facilities, according to a news release from Courtyard's parent, Washington, D.C. based Marriott International Inc. The new guest rooms are contemporary in style and relaxing in ambiance using a color palette of gold, red and wheat tones. Enhancements include improved work spaces; new bedding and plush linens, flat screen TVs, and bathroom upgrades such as new vanities, shelves, mirrors and lighting. In addition, each guest room now offers complimentary Internet access and most guest rooms offer great views of Water Place Park, the Rhode Island State House, or the skyline of the financial district.

The open, free-flowing lobby and restaurant space are designed to give the feel of a residential great room or club room. The new space, which replaces the former restaurant, lounge and lobby area, invites guests to stay after breakfast to meet. Later in the day it evolves into a hip gathering spot for cocktails and post-meeting receptions. The lobby includes colorful décor with big cozy gold and red couches, indigo blue high-chairs and lots of windows overlooking the city of Providence.

The Courtyard Providence Downtown also features a junior ballroom accommodating up to 100 people, and three additional meeting rooms, ideal for business meetings and smaller regional conferences. The hotel is directly across from The Rhode Island Convention Center, Providence Place Mall and two blocks from the financial district.
