The Radisson SAS Hotel in Hasselt has officially opened its doors on November 17th, 2005. The new hotel is part of the “TT Center”, an office building in the center of Hasselt dating from the 70’s that has been totally renovated during the last two years.

Hasselt, the capital of the Limburg province, is close to important regional cities such as Maastricht, Liège and Aachen. The city has several museums and art galleries, is home to the largest Japanese garden in Europe and hosts dozen of cultural and other events each month. The attractive, often traffic free streets are dotted with numerous boutiques, luxury goods and specialist shops, and in recent years has acquired quite a reputation as a city of fashion! Since July 1997, Hasselt has been the European model for a new and innovative transport policy; the city provides free public transport, and all the main roads have been re-built. Hasselt also takes the lead on the information highway: in the near future the complete city will become one huge hotspot where people can get wireless access to the Internet.

Housed in the TT Tower, one of the most fashionable malls in the city center and close to the business district, the Radisson SAS Hotel in Hasselt boasts unique room styles and excellent dining and meeting facilities.

Guest rooms The hotel offers 124 spacious and comfortable rooms and two suites, each designed in the unique “Hazeltek” style.

Food & Entertainment Named for the copper that was imported from the Falun copper mines in Sweden in the 17th century, the “Koper” Bar and Restaurant evokes the feeling of being in a modern open loft apartment. The restaurant has been created by blending parts of an old Flemish merchant’s warehouse, a Dutch Grand Café, a distillery from Geneva and a bourgeois kitchen from Hasselt with modern design elements from Antwerp and Copenhagen. The “Koper” restaurant will be the first 100% smoke-free restaurant in the surroundings of Hasselt!

Fitness & Relaxation The hotel has a direct connection to the adjacent health and fitness center with indoor swimming pool and sauna.

Free internet The new Radisson SAS Hotel is totally wired, all hotel guests and visitors can access the Internet from anywhere in the hotel: rooms, meeting facilities or public areas, without any costs!

Hotel guests will have access to the underground parking at the TT center.

Pierre Verbeke, General Manager Radisson SAS Hotel in Hasselt comments: “ During weekdays the Radisson SAS Hotel will mainly focus on corporate business travelers, and during weekends it will offer pleasant and welcoming accomodation to local and international tourists.”

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts manages two hotels in Amsterdam, one in Antwerp, one in Brussels and two in Spa. The opening of the second Radisson SAS Hotel in Brussels is scheduled for early 2006. The opening of the first Park Inn hotel in Belgium (Bierset/ Liège Airport) is planned for 2007.
