When top Christchurch chef Mat Jones and wine expert Chris Davies head to Kuala Lumpur this week they’ll be taking with them a valuable cargo of herbs and spices.
Jones, the executive chef at the Millennium Hotel Christchurch, and Davies, the hotel’s restaurant and bar manager are heading to Malaysia to stage a 10-day Taste of New Zealand culinary festival at the Grand Millennium hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
The Grand Millennium is celebrating its makeover to a deluxe hotel in the heart of Malaysian capital by inviting a series of top chefs from around the world to contribute to an international culinary series. New Zealand was chosen first and the Taste of New Zealand food and wine festival is being run by a team from the Grand Millennium’s sister hotel, Millennium Hotel Christchurch.
