The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, which just completed a $10 million property-wide renovation, has promoted Rob Alexandre to Assistant General Manager of Food & Beverage. In his new position, he is responsible for overseeing all food & beverage operations at the resort, which includes its new restaurant and bar 500 South, An American Grill, and banquet and catering at the award-winning resort. Together with the adjoining St. Johns County Convention Center and the adjacent World Golf Hall of Fame, the resort is the largest combination hotel and conference center between Atlanta and Orlando, with 86,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Alexandre most recently served as The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village’s Assistant General Manager of the Rooms Division. In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the operation of the rooms division as well as many aspects of the comprehensive $10 million renovation, which included the remodeling of all 301 guest rooms and suites. He has been with the resort since its opening in 1998, where he has served as Convention Center Manager, Banquet Manager, and Operations Manager. Prior to that, he served as Banquet Manager for the Embassy Suites Kansas City.

“We’re very pleased to announce this promotion of Rob, as he is the perfect person to oversee all of our food & beverage operations,” said Mark Schwantner, general manager of The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village. “His extensive experience and long-time tenure with our resort are truly valued and a great asset to our resort.”

In addition to the remodeling of all of the guest rooms and suites, and the opening of the new restaurant and bar, the $10 million renovation included dramatic changes to the resort’s lobby atrium and entry area, remodeling all guest room corridors, an expanded fitness center with new state-of-the-art equipment, enhancements to the meeting offerings and business center, and even the addition of a new “signature scent.”

Located just off of the resort’s beautifully-remodeled lobby, the upscale 500 South boasts striking architecture, a picturesque full-length wine wall, colorful new furniture, chic hardwood floors, warm wood tones, and dramatic lighting. The restaurant, which serves New American Regional Cuisine, is in a redesigned space that previously housed The Cypress Pointe Restaurant and The Links Lounge.

Adjacent to the restaurant is the new 500 South Lounge, which boasts an impressive 50-inch television as the centerpiece. Featuring beautiful hardwood floors, colorful carpeting, new furniture in vibrant colors, and several additional flat-screen televisions, it also has an enhanced and remodeled billiard room.

The resort’s 26,450-sq.-ft. St. Augustine Ballroom, which can accommodate 2,700 guests for receptions, just received new carpet and wall finishes, as did the rest of the meeting space. The resort also added flex-back chairs for all meeting space.

Whether you’re seeking a golfer’s paradise or a lush resort getaway, The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village has something for everyone. Featuring a wealth of recreational offerings that appeal to golfers and non-golfers alike, this award-winning resort enables you to play golf on two of the country’s finest golf courses (King & Bear, and Slammer & Squire), relax at the exclusive oceanfront Serenata Beach Club, enjoy a soothing service at the world-class PGA TOUR Spa Laterra, experience the PGA TOUR Golf Academy, and explore the wonders of America’s oldest city, St. Augustine. Combine these offerings with the $10 million renovation, and you’ll truly find a Florida paradise.

Renaissance guests also are able to enjoy an indoor professional golf simulator, sauna, pool, hot tub, tennis courts, 24-hour business center, and full-service concierge. Just a chip shot from the resort, guests find an 18-hole championship real grass putting course, a 132-yard Island Challenge Hole, an IMAX® Theater, and the Walk of Champions.
