Marriott Vacation Club Appoints New General Manager at Marriott's Shadow Ridge (United States)

Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI) – the vacation ownership division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) – has appointed Daniel Slaughter to general manager at Marriott’s Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert, Calif.

A 14-year Marriott veteran, Slaughter comes to Marriott’s Shadow Ridge with extensive experience in the industry. Slaughter began his inspiring career path as an engineer at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina; from there he was promoted to senior electrician at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa and then to assistant director of engineering and loss prevention at the Remington Club by Marriott.

Slaughter next moved to Marriott’s Desert Springs Villas in Palm Desert where he served as chief engineer, was promoted to director of facilities and later to director of customer experience. He continued his career as director of customer experience at Marriott’s Timber Lodge at Lake Tahoe and Marriott’s Grand Residence Club, Lake Tahoe before he was promoted to general manger at Marriott’s MoutainSide at Park City in 2004 and was recognized as Marriott Vacation Club International’s General Manager of the Year in 2005.

“Throughout his career, Daniel has demonstrated a top-notch work ethic, a positive attitude and assembled an excellent team as the key components to his success,” said Jane Berg, regional vice president of customer experience for the West region. “His passion for making a difference in the lives of others will carry through to his new role at Marriott’s Shadow Ridge, where Daniel will be a tremendous asset.”

In his most recent role, Slaughter served as general manager of Marriott Vacation Club International Owner Services Call Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, where his team’s success contributed to MVCI Owner Services’ achievement of The American Business Awards’ “Best Customer Service Organization” in 2007.

A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Slaughter studied at San Diego City College and received a certificate in electrical maintenance from Coastline Technical College. Additionally, Slaughter has attended 10 Marriott certification and training courses throughout his time with the company. Slaughter along with his wife, Charina, and their three children, Kiana, Anthony and Daniel Jr. have relocated and now reside in Palm Desert, Calif.
