Banyan Tree Lijiang is poised to deliver the next level in hospitality, two years after its opening ushered sustainable tourism in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dayan Old Town. Having won over 15 international awards and accolades, the resort is introducing a total of 33 new villas to its extensive Naxi village-styled resort grounds. The additional inventory complements the resort’s extensive new 700 square metres of built meeting facilities, including a Grand Ballroom accommodating 260 persons.

Banyan Tree Group’s flagship resort in China, Banyan Tree Lijiang pioneered the luxury pool villa experience in the Yunnan region where it connected guests to the culture as well as environment of the historic locale.

A total of 20 Garden and Superior Suites, eight Two-Bedroom Town Houses, two Two-Bedroom Jet Pool Villas, and three Three-Bedroom Jet Pool Villas have been conceptualised to cater to the growing demand for upmarket, and culturally authentic experiences in Lijiang.

Family-sized Fun
Traditional Chinese values of familial bonding and kinship take centre stage in the Three-Bedroom Jet Pool Villa, designed to encourage purposeful interaction while exuding stately imperial charm. There is ample room to learn the fine art of tea-drinking under a traditional Oriental pavilion while appreciating Nature’s bounty of snow-capped peaks, highland meadows and blooming azaleas. When night falls, take a warm, soothing dip and unwind in the privacy of a heated outdoor jet-pool.

Architectural Innovation
The Two-Bedroom Town House represents unique opportunities to meld the modern with the antique. A master bedroom on the upper floor contains a balcony to better experience inspiring views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the most significant mountain range in the area. Meanwhile, the second bedroom is uniquely configured to make way for two spa massage treatment beds on request, which is ideal for enjoying the famed Banyan Tree Spa in the privacy of the guests’ own accommodation.

A first for the Banyan Tree Group, a two-storey terrace consisting of Garden Suites on the ground floor and Deluxe Suites on the upper floor provide ideal accommodation for short and long stay guests. Each spacious suite is well equipped with all the amenities expected of a Banyan Tree villa, and is similarly accented with cultural Chinese artefacts.

Mastering the Art of Meetings
Regional and global companies are increasingly looking towards Lijiang’s easy accessibility, pleasant weather and cultural immersion when they plan corporate meetings and themed events. As the premier banqueting organiser in the area, Banyan Tree Lijiang’s newly expanded facilities are the complete solution for any occasion. Four meeting and function rooms offer full business equipment, while the majestic Jade Dragon Grand Ballroom easily impresses up to 260 guests for cocktail receptions or even weddings.

Destination Dining
Banyan Tree Lijiang caps its achievements with the recent introduction of Destination Dining experiences, by offering a taste of China that becomes a full blown feast for the senses. A modern six-course degustation menu is served by a personal butler in the Imperial Feast, which takes place in the Presidential Villa, followed by an overnight sojourn. Located in an iconic handcrafted Naxi-style pagoda, the Moonlight Pagoda experience features Naxi-inspired creations such as flat rice noodle with yak meat and barbecued local matsutake mushrooms.
