The Rezidor Hotel Group once again increases its portfolio in Russia and announces 3 new hotels with a total of 969 rooms: The Park Inn Volgograd (173 rooms) is scheduled to open in Q2 2010, followed by the Park Inn Kaliningrad (276 rooms) in Q1 2011 and the Radisson Grand Hotel Rostov-on-Don (520 rooms) in Q3 2011.

“These signings clearly strengthen our leading position in Russia”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. “Our strong pipeline in the country now features 23 hotels with more than 6,700 rooms – if we look at Russia and all further CIS countries all together, we even reach 35 hotels with more than 9,200 rooms in operation and under development.” Russia belongs to the most important business development markets for Rezidor – as a dynamic and emerging region with huge potential.

The Park Inn Volgograd will be located close to the city centre – Volgograd is stretched along the river Volga and one of the key stops on the route of the popular tourism cruises. Near the hotel guests can visit the famous statue of Mamaev Kurgan which commemorates the Battle of Stalingrad (Volgograd’s former name). The train station with links to Moscow, Ukraine, the Caucasus and Siberia is 7 km away, the international airport 14 km. Besides 173 rooms, the Park Inn will offer a restaurant, 2 bars, and nearly 1,000 square meters conference space.

The Park Inn Kaliningrad will be situated in the heart of the city – alongside the Radisson SAS Kaliningrad due to open in 2009 – and 24 km away from the international airport. Services will comprise 276 rooms, a restaurant, a lobby bar and lounge, a fitness, a Paulaner mini-brewery and more than 1,500 square meters conference space.

The Radisson Grand Hotel Rostov-on-Don is the second Radisson hotel in town – the stylish Radisson SAS Don Hotel with 81 rooms opened its doors in April 2008. The spectacular Grand Hotel with 520 rooms will be located on the city’s main promenade overlooking the River Don. It will feature 2 restaurants, a sky bar, a lounge bar and 1,900 square meters conference space. A fitness center on 800 square meters and including spa, pool and outdoor terrace will complete the service portfolio.
