Regent Hotels & Resorts Announces New Leadership at Signature Properties in Beijing and Turks and Caicos

Diderik Van Regemorter, formerly General Manager of The Regent Palms Turks and Caicos, transitions to Managing Director of The Regent Beijing, the brand’s award-winning flagship property in China. In addition, veteran hotel professional Monica Neumann was named General Manager at the award-winning Caribbean resort, The Regent Palms, set on world-renowned Grace Bay Beach.

Under Van Regemorter’s direction, The Regent Palms was one of only five Caribbean hotels to earn a spot on Robb Report’s 100 Best Places to Stay 2008, and the resort’s Regent Spa was on Condé Nast Traveler’s coveted “Hot List” for 2008. Prior to joining Regent, Van Regemorter served as Hotel Director aboard Holland America Line, and in similar positions with Cunard-Seabourn and Princess Cruises. A global hospitality veteran, Van Regemorter also served in management roles for several years with Marriott Hotels and Resorts worldwide. A Belgian citizen and US resident, Van Regemorter holds a bachelor of science, hotel management degree from the Centre International in Glion, Switzerland.

Neumann brings extensive luxury experience to her new position as General Manager of The Regent Palms Turks and Caicos. Recently Director of Operations and Director of Quality Integration and Training for Regent Hotels, Neumann worked with Regent managed hotels globally and cultivated strong relationships with Van Regemorter and The Regent Palms. In addition, her hospitality experience includes several senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels Corporation. At Hyatt, Neumann distinguished herself as the company’s first female to open a Hyatt operationally (Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Washington DC) as well as the first female General Manager to open a Hyatt hotel (Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, Fla.). She also served as General Manager at the Hyatt Newporter Hotel in Newport Beach, and at the Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia. Her luxury expertise includes positions in client services for upscale retailer Nordstrom, Inc.
