At Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa, guests can expect the unexpected! The resort offers a new way to excite the holiday and to get away from the good old version of polo sports, the Elephant Polo. Through the resort’s own Elephant Camp located within the ground of the Anantara Resort Golden Triangle, the property tempts everyone to experience one of the world’s most exclusive sports and to create good perceptions and relationships towards this giant creature.
Elephant Polo Practice session involves a two hour session on local clay court which gives enough time for practice to get the stroke in place, basic tuition on the rules of the game and culminate with one on one short game to practice the skills and give players a taste of the fitness of the professionals. The ideal time to do this is from 0900 – 1100 in the morning before the sun gets too hot. There might be a question why the session is carried on in such short hour, to tell the truth two hours of this sort of work is enough!
The price includes Ground rental and set up charge for 4,000 Baht (net) plus two elephants for a one on one session for 16,000 Baht (net) or four elephants for two on two (or extended one on one sessions) for 32,000 Baht (net). The price includes elephants, equipment rental, insurance, small picnic and refreshments, and transportation to and from the ground.
The resort guarantees to choose the elephants that enjoy the game, the chasing of the ball and love to compete. This activity is on request only and the resort reserves the right to withdraw this activity at no cost to the players, if any of the polo elephants is not at full fitness. The practice lesson is valid from now till October 2009.
