Travelers can relax and unwind with some of their favorite comfort foods and experiences from the moment they walk into their hotel rooms with the expansion of Hilton Hotels & Resorts' Requests Upon Arrival service. The pre-order program, first introduced to HHonors(R) members in August 2006, now allows all travelers to personalize their trips before they even arrive by selecting from a range of individual choices, which include complimentary in-room offerings, paid snacks and beverages and enjoyable products, services and upgrades. With just the click of a mouse, guests can pre-arrange for customized items to be placed in their guestrooms upon check-in at any of Hilton's 265 participating hotels across the U.S.
"The expansion of Hilton Requests Upon Arrival allows us to anticipate all of our guests' needs and provide them with options to help them make the most of their stays," said Jeff Diskin, senior vice president -- brand management, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. "Whether it's additional down pillows and towels, birthday balloons and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting in-room or an instant upgrade to a suite with a gorgeous view, travelers can use the service to create their own personalized experience."
The Hilton Requests Upon Arrival service features offerings in three categories: Complimentary, Food & Beverage and Miscellaneous. The Complimentary section consists of items such as additional foam or down pillows, extra towels and a non-down blanket or comforter. Food & Beverage menu items are customized by each participating hotel and range from general snack foods and beer to antipasto dishes, gourmet cookies and chocolates to help guests rejuvenate after a day's travels or indulge in while watching TV.
Each participating hotel also features its own assortment of themed and locally-inspired foods, travel comforts and upgrades in the Miscellaneous section of the menu. Miscellaneous items include everything from extra mini refrigerators and rollaway beds for parents traveling with young children and babies to beach club memberships and upgraded rooms with scenic views for travelers looking to take in the local sites. A few popular selections available at participating hotels through the Hilton Requests Upon Arrival program include:
-- Bath Butler: Enjoy a gentleman's retreat at the Hilton Lac Leamy, Quebec, Canada, with a stress-relieving, pH balanced foam bath especially prepared for men's skin and enriched with vegetal sources. This package also includes chocolate truffles, cognaca and bath accessories.
-- Birthday Surprise: Plan a no-hassle birthday at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio in San Antonio, Texas, with a "Happy Birthday" Mylar balloon and accent balloons, a celebratory bottle of house Champagne or wine and two slices of chocolate cake.
