Rose Kemna and Leonor Wong appointed to newly-created positions at Aqua Hotels

Aqua Hotels & Resorts announced the appointments of Rose Kemna and Leonor Wong to newly-created positions of Director of Sales and Director of Guest Relations, respectively.

Rose Kemna

As Director of Sales, Kemna is responsible for overseeing daily revenue generation for Park Shore Waikiki. In addition, she also oversees Retail Market Segments including Corporate, Government, Military, Kamaaina, Travel Agent, Consortia and Niche markets for all 12 Aqua Hotels.

Kemna has 18 years of Hawaii travel industry experience and was most recently at The Kahala Hotel & Resort where she was Senior Sales Manager responsible for generating revenue in group sales including meetings and incentives. Prior to The Kahala, Rose was Sales Manager at ResortQuest Hawaii, generating revenue for over thirty hotel and condominium resorts throughout Hawaii from Kamaaina, Military, Travel Agent and Niche markets.

”We are thrilled to have someone with Rose’s background and experience join the Aqua ‘Ohana,” said Elizabeth Churchill, Aqua’s VP Sales & Marketing.

Currently, Kemna is located at Aqua’s home office but will transition to Park Shore Waikiki prior to the start of their 2009 renovation program.

Kemna is a graduate of the University of Hawaii School of Travel Industry Management.

Leonor Wong

Recently promoted to the newly-created Director of Guest Relations position, Wong is tasked with championing Aqua’s guest relations initiatives and increasing service standards at all 12 Aqua hotels in Waikiki.

“Wong played a key role in helping Aqua achieve top ten status on TripAdvisor,” remarked Guy Underkoffler, Aqua’s Senior Vice President. “Her excellent operations and interpersonal skills will be utilized to improve the breakfast service, manager’s reception and overall first impression of the recently-renovated Aqua Bamboo & Spa, followed by Park Shore Waikiki.”

Wong has 18 years of experience in hotel engineering and housekeeping management which resulted in her ability to manage and execute projects effectively and efficiently as well as maintain the property to the highest level expected. Most recently, Wong was Executive Housekeeper for Aqua Ocean Tower/Hotel Renew. She was also Assistant Executive Housekeeper/Inspector for Royal Garden Hotel and a member of the Engineering department at Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel.

Wong was educated at the University of Northern Philippines and received several certificates in housekeeping and operational problem solving.

Her office is located at the Park Shore Waikiki.
