General Manager of Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa, Mr. Matthias Roeke, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jun. M Cordova as the new director of sales for the resort. Mr. Cordova will be reporting directly to the director of sales and marketing, Ms Suzaini Ghani, effective immediately.
He will be responsible for the Sales departmen and will oversee and direct all aspects of the sales, coordination, planning and successful implementation of various revenue management strategies and in charge of the daily operations of the Sales team.
Mr. Cordova is a graduate from the University of San Carlos with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He brings with him 15 years of working experience in the hospitality industry where he started his career as a sales and reservations coordinator. He has since then worked his way up and held several positions, including corporate sales executive, assistant sales catering and meeting services manager, assistant sales manager, sales manager, senior sales manager, assistant director of sales and director of sales.
A proven and valuable member of the Shangri-La group, Mr. Cordova has seen the hotels he worked in awarded various awards including highest year on year Rev PAR increase, most improved gross operating profit 2006, most improved rooms department profit 2006 by Shangri-La’s corporate office, certificate of appreciation by the US Embassy Singapore, Shangri-La Tiger Team award 2000.
