Continuing rapid growth of Family of Hotels across Europe

Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) continues its dynamic expansion of its Family of Hotels across Europe following the signing of six new properties (comprising over 1,000 rooms) across its Family of Hotels. The deals, representing a combination of franchise and management agreements, include four new mid-market Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Turkey, an upscale Doubletree by Hilton conversion project near Lecce, Italy and a flagship Hilton property in Wroclaw, Poland.

Welcoming the new signings, Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President Development – Europe and Africa, said: “We continue to make great progress in achieving our growth plans for the Hilton Family of Hotels across a number of key European markets. It is clear that hotel owners and developers are looking to align themselves with strong, well established brands. The strength of Hilton’s Family of Hotels, combined with the impact of our powerful global marketing, sales and distribution engines, provide compelling reasons for potential developers to work with us.”

Turkey
In Turkey HHC has signed long-term management agreements with two leading property developers, Amplio (Amplio Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ve Geliştirme Anonίm Şirketi) and the Kosifler Group (Kosίfler Oto Servίs Ve Tίcaret Anonίm Şirketi), to open four new Hilton Garden Inn properties in Istanbul, Çorlu and Çorum. These hotels form part of wider strategic development alliance agreements signed with Amplio and Kosifler to develop up to 40 Hilton Family of Hotels in Turkey over the next five years;

Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Bostanci (signed with Kosifler Group): Anticipated to open by the end of 2010, Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Bostanci will mark the debut of the Hilton Garden Inn brand in Istanbul. The property will offer 150 guest rooms and offer facilities such as a full service restaurant and lobby bar, four flexible meeting rooms and fitness centre and swimming pool. Situated on the Anatolia side of the Bosphorus in the heart of the Maltepe business district, the hotel will be well positioned to serve the growing demand from international and domestic business travellers.

Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Golden Horn (signed with Amplio): Expected to welcome its first guests in 2011, the 220 room Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Golden Horn will become the second Hilton Garden Inn to open in the city. The hotel will offer facilities such as eight flexible meeting rooms, a large ballroom catering for up to 300 people, a full service restaurant and lobby bar and fitness centre. Situated in the Beyoglu district of the city’s Golden Horn area, the hotel will be conveniently located close to Istanbul’s main Şişli and Maslak business districts and just a short drive from the historic Old Town.

Hilton Garden Inn Çorlu (signed with Amplio): Located within the Çorlu Park development project, Hilton Garden Inn Çorlu will be situated only 15 kilometres from the city centre and 25 kilometres from the main city of Tekirdağ. Expected to open in 2011, the hotel will offer 160 well appointed guest rooms, two meeting rooms, ballroom facility, full service restaurant and lobby bar, swimming pool and fitness centre. Çorlu, a rapidly developing industrial district in the Tekirdağ region, lies some 75 kilometres miles east of Istanbul, and enjoys a strategic position on one of the main transport links connecting Turkey with Greece and Bulgaria.

Hilton Garden Inn Çorum (signed with Amplio): Anticipated to open in the middle of 2011, Hilton Garden Inn Çorum will become the first internationally branded hotel to open in the region. The property will offer 160 guest rooms, and include facilities such as two meeting rooms, a flexible ballroom facility with a capacity for up to 300 people, a full service restaurant and lobby bar, fitness centre and swimming pool. Hilton Garden Inn Çorum will be centrally located just three kilometres south east of the city centre and only six kilometres from the city’s developing industrial zone. Situated in Central Anatolia, Çorum is recognised as the gateway to the Black Sea, enjoying strong demand from leisure travellers thanks to the historical and archaeological significance of the region. In recent years demand from domestic business travel has been driven by the region’s growing importance as an industrial and commercial hub.

Poland
HHC has entered into a management agreement with Wings Properties Sp.z.o.o for a new Hilton hotel in the city of Wroclaw, Poland’s fourth largest city. The 255 room Hilton Wroclaw is expected to open by the end of 2011. Located in a prime downtown location, the hotel will be a short walk from the city centre and historic Old Town market square. Hilton Wroclaw will offer guests a number of amenities and services such as an all day restaurant, a lobby bar and bistro, ten fully equipped Hilton meeting rooms, a 500 m² ballroom and a 850 m² wellness centre and spa including swimming pool and gym facility. HHC currently operates one hotel in Poland - the Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Convention Centre- with another Hilton hotel expected to open in Gdansk in 2010. The company has also signed agreements for two Hilton Garden Inn properties in Rzeszow and Warsaw which are both anticipated to open next year.

Italy
Following the recent debut of Doubletree by Hilton Milan, HHC will open its second Doubletree by Hilton brand in Italy with the signing of a franchise agreement with Acaya Spa to convert a 96-room golf resort near Lecce. Doubletree by Hilton Acaya Golf Resort – Lecce, previously known as the Acaya Golf Hotel & Resort, is currently closed for refurbishment and expected to welcome its first guests under the upscale Doubletree by Hilton brand by the end 2010. When it re-opens, the resort will offer a 150 seat restaurant, lobby bar and 500 m² meeting and banqueting space. Extensive leisure facilities will include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, Jacuzzi, spa treatment rooms and an 18 hole golf course. Over the summer months guests will also have exclusive access to the resort’s private beach. Doubletree by Hilton Acaya Golf Resort – Lecce, will be located just ten kilometres from Lecce city centre and 45 kilometres from Brindisi International Airport. HHC currently operates a total of three Doubletree by Hilton properties in Europe, with hotels in England (Cambridge), Scotland (Aberdeen) and Italy (Milan). A further four hotels are due to open in London (England), Kosice (Slovakia), Novosibirsk (Russia) and Perm (Russia) by the end of 2011.

Hilton Hotels Corporation currently operates over 165 hotels and 42,000 rooms in Europe, employing more than 23,000 team members. The company plans to add over 150 new hotels to its European portfolio over the next 10 years.
