Michelin, the French guide to fine dining, has just conferred 12 stars on Berlin restaurants, turning the capital into the German city with the most Michelin stars, for the second year running. Christian Lohse has maintained his crown as Berlin’s only 2 Michelin-starred chef, for his classic French cuisine with a contemporary twist. In fall 2007, Lohse’s dedication to his craft and relentless pursuit of perfection has placed him firmly at the forefront of Berlin’s culinary world, when he became the first Berlin chef in 13 years who merits 2 Michelin stars.

“We couldn’t be more proud to see our efforts acknowledged by the Guide Michelin, for the second year in a row”, says Wolfgang Nitschke, General Manager at The Regent Berlin. “The Fischers Fritz’ top notch kitchen brigade and service team works hard, to achieve this level of excellence, in a restaurant which provides superlative cuisine and service 365 days a year.”

By sustaining the two Michelin stars this year, Christian Lohse confirms his position as one of the most celebrated chefs in Germany and follows up on his previous awards, when running the restaurant “Windmuehle” in Bad Oeynhausen. Prior to his engagement at The Regent Berlin he worked at such renowned places like 3-starred “L’Espérance” in Vezelay, the “Guy Savoy” in Paris and “The Dorchester” in London, where he became the personal chef to the Sultan of Brunei.

The Fischers Fritz’ menu is an artistic and modern approach to French-inspired cuisine, featuring exquisite fish and seafood delicacies. Subtle yet sophisticated, they complement the restaurant’s atmosphere of balance and class. Simple creations distinguished by the high quality of fresh produce, to be enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere. Lohse sees the award as a distinction for one, but also as a motivating reward: “I couldn’t be more proud of this restaurant and my talented team. We feel honored to receive the 2 Michelin stars for a second consecutive year. Our daily challenge in the gourmet gastronomy is to maintain a high-level consistency, day by day.”

Guests enjoy Christian Lohse’s exceptional cuisine at The Regent Berlin, Charlottenstraße 49, 10117 Berlin, daily from 12h p.m. to 2h p.m. and from 6.30h p.m. to 11.30h p.m.
