Meeting professionals attending MPI’s MeetDifferent® show February 7-10, 2009 in Atlanta will have the chance to win the impressive 1-carat “AQUA Diamond” being awarded by Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI). Planners simply need to stop by to register for the drawing at ALHI’s “Luxury Lane” area at the show (booths 100-128) for the chance to win the dazzling 1-carat diamond solitaire, named after the extraordinary new resort, AQUA, located along the beach of Cancun, Mexico.

“Giving away the one-carat diamond provides even more incentive for planners at the show to learn more about the impressive AQUA resort in Mexico and to check out ALHI’s impressive portfolio of luxurious Four- and Five-Diamond resorts and hotels worldwide,” said David Gabri, president and CEO of Associated Luxury Hotels, which serves the meetings and incentive industries with its authorized national sales responsibilities for its membership of over 120 premier Four- and Five-Diamond/Star quality hotels and resorts worldwide. “The popular one-carat diamond ‘Member Feature’ giveaways at national tradeshows are also a great way to brightly shine attention on exceptional ALHI members like AQUA, which truly is a ‘gem’ in the Caribbean,” added Gabri.

“The diamond giveaway promotion has become an ALHI signature program because it is fun and it has been so well-received by planners. So we’re continuing the program at major tradeshows, and at ALHI’s own Luxury Showcase Tradeshows, in 2009,” said Gabri.

Located in the heart of vibrant Cancun, AQUA is a spectacular Caribbean oasis with powdered sugar beaches overlooking pristine turquoise water. The resort features 371 guest rooms with broad oceanfront vistas, and more than 16,500 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate up to 1,000 attendees. Recreational offerings include the 16,000-square-foot Spa Aqua, the renowned Siete restaurant, celebrated MB restaurant, and acclaimed AZUR restaurant. The resort is situated right across the street from the popular La Isla Shopping Mall, and is just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport.

Additional diamonds that will be awarded in 2009 include the “Arizona Grand Resort Diamond” at ALHI’s Luxury Showcase tradeshow in Washington, DC in February; “Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa Diamond” at ASAE Springtime in Washington, DC in April; the “Resort at Squaw Creek Diamond” at MPI-WEC in Salt Lake City, Utah in July; and the “Chateau Élan Winery & Resort Diamond” at IncentiveWorks in Toronto in August. Each diamond is named for one of ALHI’s distinguished members.

With a diverse luxury portfolio of more than 85,000 rooms and suites and 9 million square feet of meeting space, ALHI serves as a dedicated dues-based National Sales organization that enables planners to gain reliable one-call access to its outstanding member hotels and resorts that specialize in meetings and incentive programs requiring from 10 to more than 5,000 rooms.

Member properties include extraordinary meeting and incentive resorts, incomparable city hotels, exclusive smaller hotels, golf resorts, historic and landmark properties, island destinations, resorts with spas, properties in international destinations, and hotels with gaming and entertainment.
