Sydney company Goddings Pty Ltd has signed a long-term agreement to partner with Hard Rock International, one of the world’s most recognised brands, to develop franchise Hard Rock Cafe locations in Australia. As part of the agreement, Goddings Pty Ltd. will act as sole agent to acquire premises for the Australian expansion.

The company will focus on opening Hard Rock Cafes in prime positions and key cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and Perth. Previous Hard Rock Cafes in Melbourne and Sydney, which closed in 2007, will re-open in more strategic locations under the new franchise.

"We are excited about partnering with Hard Rock International – who own one of the world’s best known brands, and we look forward to growing the brand throughout Australia,” said Lennie Huntly, Director of Goddings Pty. Ltd. and former General Manager of Hard Rock Cafe Sydney. “The aim for my business partner, David Rich and I, is for the brand to become relevant to the Australian public. We both have a long history with Hard Rock and being an Australian based company feel we know what will appeal to our local market. We are eager to build and re-position the brand through a strong alignment and support for ‘live’ Australian music and believe the local market will embrace the revitalised Hard Rock concept.”

The brand works closely with the record and entertainment industries to remain at the forefront of musical trends. The company-owned locations and many of the franchise cafes worldwide have now been re-invigorated and re-styled, many adopting the ‘New Look’ Hard Rock, which will appear in the Australian expansion. Initial plans include a Sydney Hard Rock Cafe to open in 12-18 months, and Goddings are actively looking for suitable venues in all states.
