Easter 2009 will be an egg of two fun-filled halves at Huvafen Fushi, the Maldives’ super-chic island resort, with younger guests indulging their taste for chocolate eggs, and older guests getting a taste of the extraordinary. Children staying at the resort will be treated to a lavish Easter egg hunt, sending them on an adventure around the island paradise in search of delicious chocolates to collect in pink and blue wagons.

Meanwhile, guests will get a taste of the extraordinaire on Easter Monday as psychedelic house duo Masomenos perform a playful, ambient set, characteristic of their unique, experimental style as part of Huvafen Fushi’s Dream Calendar. Guests can expect a highly imaginative performance, complete with floating figures in the infinity pool, kites swaying in the sky and colourful, vivid images played on a big screen.

Masomenos are graphic designer Joan Costes, daughter of leading French hotelier and owner of Hôtel Costes, Jean-Louis Costes, and her partner, filmmaker Adrien de Maublanc. The development of their various projects is at the heart of Masomenos’ sound and image structure, ranging from the creation of an audio and video installation for Perrier-Jouët at FIAC; composition of the soundtrack for a Vanessa Bruno fashion show; making a film for Précision; and developing a line of cosmetics for Chanel, to designing and packaging Hôtel Costes’ range of products as well as creating the website through which all the house products are sold. Joan and Adrien also produce their own music and created the overall visual identity for the film “Bon Voyage…”.

A talented filmmaker complementing Joan’s music, Adrien was also awarded the Best Young Director award at Cannes in 2001 for the production of a Greenpeace film. He has also produced a number of advertisements and promotional films for the likes of Hermès and EMI.

Huvafen Fushi has been pulling out all the stops by bringing some of the world’s best to its shores. The 2008 Dream Calendar was a sensation, with highlights including chocolatier Pierre Marcolini; DJs and producers Charles Schillings and Josè Padilla; celebrity facialist Anastasia Achilleos; and the much anticipated launch of Hôtel Costes 11 by Stephane Pompougnac. The super stylish resort plans to up the ante in 2009 by introducing a new generation of artists and exploring other genres of style in music, cuisine, spa and art.
