Windstar Cruises, which operates a three-ship fleet of luxury yachts that explore the hidden harbors and secluded coves of the world's most treasured destinations, announces two new 7-day sailings to the Canary Islands in November 2009 on Wind Spirit. More than 10 years have passed since Windstar Cruises has offered a Canary Islands itinerary.

Wind Spirit departs Lisbon, Portugal on November 14, 2009, and visits the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Casablanca and seaside resort town of Agadir, Morocco, on the northwest coast of Africa before sailing to ports of Lanzarote, Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands. On the November 21, 2009 sailing, Wind Spirit will depart Santa Cruz de Tenerife and cruise to Las Palmas, Lanzarote, Agadir and Casablanca before arriving in Lisbon. On these exotic voyages guests will be able to experience Moroccan culture and history, sun-drenched beaches, volcanic landscapes, sand dunes and stunning flora and fauna. Cruise rates start at $1,999 per person, double occupancy.

A variety of optional shore excursions will also be available including a Moroccan dinner with belly dancing in Casablanca, a sightseeing trip to Marrakech, a camel trek in Agadir, hiking and cave exploring in Las Palmas and volcanic crater expeditions and wine tasting in Lanzarote. These excursions will be available for advance purchase online at www.windstarcruises.com.

Wind Spirit accommodates 148 guests and offers deluxe, oceanview staterooms that include beds with luxury linens and mattresses, flat-screen TV and DVD player, Bose SoundDock speakers for Apple iPods, waffle-weave robes with slippers and sumptuous L'Occitane products. Culinary wonders abound in Wind Spirit's The Restaurant and The Veranda. Enjoy live music in the Lounge and cocktails in the Pool Bar. Unwind in the sea air in a chaise lounge on deck or take a dip in Wind Spirit's pool or hot tub. Salon services, relaxing massages, facials and nail treatments can be indulged in at WindSpa.

Windstar's award-winning reputation for sophisticated, yet casual elegance has been recognized by some of the most notable names in the travel world. Windstar was recently awarded "Favourite Small-Ship Cruise Line" in the U.K.'s Conde Nast Traveller's 2008 Readers' Travel Awards. Windstar received the highest score of any cruise line in the poll and was also only one of three cruise lines in Conde Nast Traveller's list of the "Top 100 of the Best the Travel World has to Offer." Celebrated Living, American Airlines' prestigious publication for first class passengers, named Windstar Cruises "Best Small-Ship/Mid-Ship Cruise Line" on their 2008 Platinum List for the second time in a row. Readers of Porthole Cruise Magazine awarded Windstar "Most Romantic Cruise Line" and "Best Tall Ship" in the 2008 10th Annual Readers' Choice Awards. Windstar has also earned top honors in Travel + Leisure's World's 2008 Best Awards and was lauded among "The World's Best Small Ships" by Conde Nast Traveler.
