Hotel wins place on Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List 2009 and Travel + Leisure’s 500 World’s Best Hotels 2009

The Conrad Hong Kong has earned a place on Conde Nast Traveler’s Fifteenth Annual Gold List 2009 and Travel + Leisure’s 500 World’s Best Hotels 2009. The prestigious readers’ choice awards are regarded among the most objective in the industry, providing a comprehensive guide to the world’s finest properties.

Over 32,000 Conde Nast readers voted for their favorite hotels, judging on the categories rooms, service, food, location and design. The Conrad Hong Kong, which received an overall score of 90.1, was noted for its tremendous views of the skyline, the harbor and Victoria Peak, whilst Travel + Leisure commended the generous room sizes at the “classic Asian-style hotel”.

Dennis Clarke, Managing Director and General Manager of the Conrad Hong Kong said he was delighted to receive the awards: “Conrad Hong Kong is honored to be recognised by two such esteemed publications. Our team members work hard to deliver the unique Conrad experience every day to our valued guests, and we are grateful for the support that the readers of Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure have given to us.”

Conde Nast Traveler is one of the world’s premier travel magazines. The Gold List 2009 is a comprehensive study of consumer preferences in which subscribers evaluated an extensive number of hotels, airlines, cruise lines, car rental agencies and destinations. Travel + Leisure is a leading monthly travel publication based in New York with a circulation of almost one million. Every year its readers vote for the very best in travel, from top hotels to the best tour operators.

This is the latest distinction for the Conrad Hong Kong whose Golden Leaf Restaurant was recently awarded one Michelin star in the first ever edition of Michelin’s world-renowned culinary and hotel guide – the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2009. The guide also recognised the hotel’s contemporary Italian restaurant Nicholini’s with four forks, the highest number received by an Italian restaurant.
