On September 1st, at a press conference for representatives of leading Kiev mass-media, Radisson SAS Hotels and Resorts, the first class international hotel company, announced the opening of a new hotel in Kiev. Radisson SAS is the first global brand to open a hotel in Ukraine. Today, international hospitality company Rezidor SAS celebrates a Grand Opening Event – a long standing company tradition.
Grand Opening is always an unprecedented event in each and every city where Radisson SAS hotel opens. It is famous for exquisite culinary creations, superb quality service, guided by the “Yes, I can!” philosophy, as well as a fresh and innovative approach. This occasion is a perfect opportunity for Radisson SAS Kiev to extend an invitation to guests of the hotel, partners and colleagues, friends and honourable guests.
For this occasion, the first floor of the hotel will be especially illuminated and beautifully decorated. The ceremony will be followed with a Champagne and caviar reception. The culmination of the event will be a Gala reception, prepared by a star chef Urban Denk, who has been especially invited for this grand occasion. Urban Denk joined SAS International Hotels in 1989 and was appointed Corporate Executive Chef, where he was responsible for the kitchen planning and opening of hotels in Brussels, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Beijing and Stockholm. Over the past 30 years, Denk has worked worldwide, including Israel, France, the Netherlands and England.
Being one of the hospitality business leaders Rezidor SAS is always at the forefront of consumer trends and tendencies. With the consumer becoming more sophisticated in their needs, life style experience is the main focus. That is why, the company is developing new restaurant concepts, working with well known chefs and star designers. In honour of such an important event, president of Rezidor SAS, Mr. Ritter has arrived to Kiev. Mr. Ritter is one of thirteen members of IHEI International Council (International Initiative for Environmental protection, a programme founded by the Prince of Wales); he also is a member of executive advice of the Swiss School of hotel facilities Glion. Under Ritter's direction, in 1994, SAS International Hotels closed an agreement with Carlson Hotels Worldwide for the Radisson brand, which represented the basis for Radisson SAS growth from 29 to the current 177 hotels in 45 countries. Since this time, Ritter has also held the position of President & CEO of Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts. Today Rezidor SAS Hospitality is one of the fastest growing hospitality companies in the world and currently has 263 hotels in 49 countries.
On 11 November 2002, "HOTELS", the world's largest trade magazine with a 60,000 circulation, named Kurt Ritter the "Corporate Hotelier of the World 2002". Mr. Ritter will personally welcome visitors of the celebration as well as perform the ribbon cutting ceremony, as a sign of the official Hotel opening. List of the distinguished guests at the opening will include Ambassadors, national and international business leaders, politician’s, people from show business and foreign journalists.
Located in the diplomatic area of historical and picturesque downtown Kiev, the new Radisson SAS hotel will provide a hearty welcome to its visitors and will offer a tour of the house.
The hotel offers 255 comfortable rooms, which are furnished in three styles, Scandinavian, Maritime and Italian. All rooms are equipped with satellite TV, a mini bar, a safe, a telephone, and also unlimited high- speed internet. Radisson SAS Hotels and Resorts are the first international hotel chain to provide, free-of-charge, wireless Internet from "E@syConnect". Radisson SAS Kiev is offering state-of-the-art conference facilities covering up to 407 square meters will perfectly fit meetings or dinner banquets of any scale. Fitness and relaxation facilities include a 245 square meter fitness club, Pace, featuring a first-class fitness area, solarium, massage room, Finnish sauna and steam bath next to the indoor relaxation area with comfortable lounges. Guest comfort and safety are a priority for Radisson SAS. One of the ways the company cares is by making available, together with Medtronic Corporation Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in all Rezidor SAS hotels. Hotel’s trained staff will be able to react promptly.
