Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino in St. Maarten has appointed Melissa Gumbs as sales manager. In her new position, Ms. Gumbs will be responsible for developing innovative promotions and strategies, attracting international clientele, strengthening relationships with major businesses and organizing conference activity for Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino.
Gumbs previously served as Assistant Sales Manager for Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino since 2007. Her role consisted of compiling conference business proposals to groups and corporations, facilitating communication with key firms, maintaining company reports, conducting market research and resolving company complaints.
Prior to joining Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, Gumbs worked with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in St. Maarten as an IT administrator, managing hardware & software, resolving virus activity, attending to staff requests and facilitating system updates.
Gumbs earned a B.A. in Business Administration and a Master’s in International Business from St. Thomas University in Miami Florida.
