Hotel waives attrition and cancellation penalties in unprecedented recession concession offer

The recently renovated Hyatt Regency Woodfield-Schaumburg has announced its "No penalties, No worries" program offering meeting planners zero percent attrition as well as a no cancellation penalty policy for all meetings with room blocks booked before July 1, 2009*. This unique advantage allows for meeting planners to have 'zero worries' about having to cancel or reduce the number of rooms blocked. For most hotels, room block changes, if possible at all, are typically required 60-days in advance.

With the current state of the economy, Hyatt sales staff has heard that meeting planners are anxious about making financial commitments for meeting space and sleeping room blocks. The Hyatt Regency Woodfield-Schaumburg's "No Penalties, No Worries" offer eases stresses associated with reserving sleeping rooms and event spaces by waiving attrition and cancellation penalties. Waiving these penalties removes the risk associated with low attendance or cancellations, potentially saving planners thousands of dollars.

"We understand meeting planners are seeing drop-offs in attendance and reduced ability to accurately predict future meeting participation. We have always offered the best possible pricing for meetings, and in today's economy we're willing to go the extra mile," said Hyatt Regency Woodfield-Schaumburg General Manager James Gould. "In addition to our current zero percent attrition and no cancellation penalty policy, we have been conducting 'name your price' budget matching arrangements with clients; they indicate their budget and we look to build an affordable program that fits within their needs."

Centerpieces of the hotel's recently completed $32 million fresh, modern redesign include expanded, stylish and contemporary meeting spaces, upgraded technology and more enhanced food and beverage offerings. Already receiving rave reviews is the new, on-property restaurant and bar - Fresh 1800. The hotel is located at the epicenter of Schaumburg-area businesses and only 9 miles from O'Hare International Airport. With more than 30,000 square feet of flexible event venues, as well as multiple ballrooms, outdoor spaces and exhibit areas, the hotel also offers onsite expert meeting planners and AV technicians along with creative onsite and off-premise catering.
